On Monday, April 15, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for extension of the duration of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine.
This is stated in the laws No. 13172 and No. 13173, published on the website of the Council.
Zelensky proposes to continue martial law and mobilization from May 9, 2025 for 90 days, ie until August 6.
On February 5, the President of Ukraine signed laws on the continuation of martial law and mobilization in Ukraine from February 8 to May 9, 2025.
On February 12, Zelensky stated that the martial law in Ukraine may be abolished when the hot phase of war would end.
Later, the head of state confirmed that the abolition of martial law and elections in Ukraine will only be after the complete cessation of the war.
