President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law that envisages an increase in the number of employees withBU from 31 thousand to 41 thousand of them, 10 thousand were assigned to the center of special operations.
This is evidenced by the draft card 13353 on the Verkhovna Rada website.
Law envisages increasing the total number of SBU:
- in peacetime-from 27 thousand to 37 thousand people, of which the number of SBU unit, which carries out operational-combat activities and special measures (CSO A) is 10 thousand persons;
- in a special period (except for the martial law) – from 31 thousand to 41 thousand people, of which the number of CSO A unit is 10 thousand persons;
- During the period of martial law – in the amount according to the mobilization plan for a special period, with the number of CSO A during the period of martial law should be at least 10 thousand people.
The SBU also provides for the grounds and procedure for the use of weapons and special means. SBU servicemen have the right to use and use weapons and military equipment during:
- conducting anti -terrorist operations,
- implementation of national security and defense measures,
- Reduce and restraint armed aggression against Ukraine,
- When performing tasks to participate in the defense of the state in established for connections,
- military units and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the order and cases.
Also President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law on July 27and about factoring and reformsin Assets Investigation and Management Agency (ARMA). This is a condition of further EU financing.
