President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed two laws on tax and customs benefits for drones operated through fiber cable.
This is stated in the cards of the laws on the website of the council.
One law (Law No. 13305) amends the Customs Code of Ukraine and exempts taxation of goods for safety and defense needs, including fibers optical and harnesses fiber optic, other fiber optic cables, other optical, navigation and topographic devices and tools used for defensive purposes.
The second law (Law No. 13306) exempts import fiber from value added tax.
According to the authors of the project, in the conditions of war more and more developers and manufacturers are mastering and producing unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) that use optical cable to control and transmit video signals. They are resistant to radio -electronic reconnaissance and enemy radio reconnaissance.
One of the elements necessary for the production of drones and other defense products is optical fibers and harnesses fiber optic and other fiber optic cables, which are mostly imported into Ukraine.
Drones on the fiber are FPV-aroma, which are controlled through fiber optic cable. The video signal is also transmitted through this optical cable. Thus, radio frequencies are not used in the control of drone on the fiber, so it does not respond to the effect of radio electronic fighting.
This year, FPV drones were protested in Ukraine for the first time with a fiber range with a range of more than 20 km.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian defense industry has the ability to produce 10 million different drones a year.
