Zelensky recalled that Ukraine had switched to the F-16, and it was one of the fastest transitions to a new type of aircraft among all countries.
“We also expect in our sky French fighters who, under the management of Ukrainian pilots, will definitely strengthen our defense,” the Head of State said.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine needs to accelerate the modernization of the Ukrainian military aviation system. This involves new personnel approaches, organizational changes and much more attention of the command staff to pilots, engineers and all people who invest energy in the development of air forces.
The President said that Lilia Averyanova, the mother of Hero of Ukraine Major Andrei Polshchikov (“Jusa”) participated in the meeting.
“He instructed the Minister of Defense of Ukraine (Rustem Umerov – Ed.) To implement certain organizational changes,” Zelensky added.
The meeting also discussed the prospect of cooperation with partners. Ukraine is working on personnel issues to strengthen the Air Force command and the Defense Ministry.
