This is stated in Decree №355 President Vladimir Zelensky.
Zelensky decided to postpone the Children’s Day on November 20 – on World Children’s Day.
Earlier, the Day of Protection of Children in Ukraine was celebrated annually on the first day of summer – June 1.
It is noted that the decree was adopted in order to assert childhood protection as a national priority, as well as to strengthen cooperation with the international community to protect the rights and best interests of the child. The document emphasizes the importance of implementing the provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
International Protection Day was founded in November 1949. It happened in Paris at a session of the Council of the International Democratic Federation of Women.
