The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, confirmed that he will not sign any document that involves the relinquishment of the country’s territories.
The statement of Zelenskyi’s position was an answer to the questions that are being discussed in the context of the peace negotiations that are being conducted with the Russian side.
This was announced by the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, in an interview The Atlantic .
Yermak noted that according to the Constitution of Ukraine, it is impossible to give up the territories, and emphasized that under Zelenskyy, we should not hope for such concessions. Currently, the focus of the negotiations is on the delineation of the contact line, not on the issue of relinquishing territories.
Despite the pressure of external factors, such as the new US peace plan, in the near future the Ukrainian and American delegations plan to continue negotiations with the aim of consolidating the results achieved during the last meeting in Geneva.
At the same time, Russian leader Vladimir Putin expressed his agreement with the peace plan, but at the same time, the question arises whether it will find support from the Ukrainian side.
Kyiv, together with the USA, is finalizing a peace plan in which Ukraine demands separate clauses on the release of all prisoners of war and the return of Ukrainian children deported by Russia.
Ukraine handed over to Lithuania a Russian soldier who is suspected of torturing prisoners, among whom was a Lithuanian volunteer.
On November 27, Ukraine unilaterally handed over 14 civilians to Russia within the framework of the humanitarian state project of Ukraine “I want to live”.
