President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said on Wednesday, November 6, that if the principle of Donald Trump in the position of the president of the United States will be “peace through strength,” America and the world will benefit from this.
“In general, for us in Ukraine, in all of Europe, it was extremely important to hear the words of the then 45th President of the United States about peace through strength all the time. And when this will be the policy principle of the 47th President of the United States, America and the whole world will definitely benefit from it,” said the Ukrainian president in an evening address published on Telegram.
Zelensky also added that this year he spoke with Trump in July, and also personally met in September in New York. According to him, they were “good conversations.”
“At the team level, we have interaction. As always, we certainly appreciate the bipartisan support of the United States. We talked about all points of the Victory Plan. At the meeting in New York, also at the meetings in Washington – in Congress and in the White House. Both in terms of defense, and in terms of the economy, and in terms of the future after the war, we have the potential for stronger cooperation. This is what will make Ukraine, America, and the entire free world more successful,” Zelenskyi said.
Earlier, in a telephone conversation, Zelensky congratulated Trump on his victory in the US presidential elections.
“I congratulate Donald Trump on his impressive victory in the elections!” he wrote, recalling a meeting with the Republican in September, during which the leaders discussed in detail the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States, the victory plan and ways to stop Russian aggression.
