President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed members of the High Council of Justice (GRP) of lawyer and scientist Vitaliy Makhinchuk and detective of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau (NABU) Maxim Saviuk.

The appointment of new members is an important step to ensure the full work of the GRP, a body that plays a significant role in the democratic system of Ukraine and is related to the implementation of the road card on the rule of law.
Currently, the High Council of Justice consists of 17 members with a number of 21 persons. Therefore, 4 more places remain vacant.
Prior to the appointment, Vitaliy Makhinchuk was in. at. Director of the Research Institute (Research Institute (Research Institute) of private law and entrepreneurship named after Academician FG Burchak of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine. Since June 2024, he has also been a deputy member of the advisory group of experts who preliminary selection of judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, under the presidential quota.
Maxim Savryuk has been working as a senior detective of the first main unit of NABU detectives since 2016. His specialization was the investigation of criminal corruption offenses committed in the judiciary and in the prosecutor’s office. Before his work at NABU Savyuk held the position of assistant judge of the Court of Appeal of Ivano-Frankivsk region.
It should be reminded that the High Council of Justice has announced the beginning of the competition for the positions of members of the competition commission of the High Qualifications Commission of Judges of Ukraine without the involvement of international experts. The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the GRP on July 22.
