Yaroslav Shangko received a law education in 2011, completing his studies at the Kherson Law Institute of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. Since 2015, he worked as a senior inspector of the juvenile prevention department in the Department of Preventive Activity of the Kherson Region. In 2019 he headed this department.
In 2020, Shanka was appointed Deputy Head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the SUNP in the Kherson region. From 2021 to 2023 he worked as the Deputy Head of the Department of Juvenile Prevention of the National Police of Ukraine. And from May 23, 2023 he held the position of Deputy Chief of the Kherson Regional Military Administration
