Ukraine is ready for the opening of the first clusters of the negotiation process on joining the EU, but in the interior of Hungary’s preferences.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this at a press conference with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Peter Fiala in Prague, reports “European Pravda”.
Zelensky noted that the Czech Republic supports Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and added that our country has actually passed the first stages of negotiations.
“We are ready to open the first clusters in the talks in the near future. A political decision is needed in Europe itself, ”he stressed.
“The decision that Europe should make, not someone who tries to manipulate the whole of Europe,” Zelensky added, obviously, referring to Hungary’s position to block the opening of the first cluster in negotiations with the EU.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the opening of three clusters in negotiations with the European Union would be supported by all EU members except Hungary.
The EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Maliva said that the European Union is still set up to open all six clusters of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession by the end of 2025. Therefore, there is a dialogue with Hungary, which blocks the opening of these clusters.
