The higher anti-corruption court is considering a preventive measure for People’s Deputy Anna Skorokhod.
Before the start of the meeting, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office announced that it would ask to choose bail for the deputy. The prosecutor also asked for the meeting to be held in closed format, citing the need to preserve the secrecy of the pre-trial investigation and personal data.
The defense categorically denied, stressing that everyone already knows who it is about, and the law enforcement officers themselves reported about the searches even before they were completed. Skorokhod herself said that she was swindled all over the country.
The court refused to hold a closed session, but drew attention to the deputy’s obscene language. During the reading of the materials, Skorokhod repeatedly used swear words.
The prosecutor emphasized the possible risks: destroying evidence, influencing witnesses, fleeing abroad or hiding because of the seriousness of the charges.
Walker appeared for questioning at NABU in the case of incitement to bribery.
