The head of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA, Serhiy Lysak, commented on information about the threat of anti-aircraft missile and artillery strikes on the territory of the region.
“I want to give advice to all bloggers from the ranks of officials of the Dnipropetrovsk region who consider themselves to be experts in military affairs. I will reveal a secret. Anti-aircraft guns and enemy artillery are not news to people from border communities. You won’t get ratings on fear,” he wrote in Telegram.
Lysak emphasized that the only official source about the situation at the front is military groups.
“Instead of posts and intimidation, it’s better to do something real, not as usual. I will definitely not comment on other people’s information leaks, let their authors do it,” he said.
The day before, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional council, Mykola Lukashuk, reported that the Russian invaders had approached the borders of the Dnipropetrovsk region and could already strike the communities of the region with guided aerial bombs.
The official warned that as a result, the enemy could hit the border communities of the region with anti-aircraft guns and artillery. According to him, the following communities were in the zone of increased danger: Velikomykhailivska, Malomykhailivska, Novopavlivska, Mezhivska, Pokrovska, Petropavlivska, Vasylkivska.

Experts indicated that the Russian military command is probably considering the possibility of attacking the southeastern part of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Although this territory is not among the illegally annexed regions of Ukraine, its capture could help the Russian Federation achieve its strategic goal of full occupation of Donetsk region, analysts emphasized.
On December 31, the head of the communications department of the 48th separate artillery brigade, Bohdan Petrenko, said that the situation around Velika Novosilka, Donetsk region, has been worsening for two months. If this settlement is captured, the occupiers will be able to continue their offensive towards the Dnipropetrovsk region.
On January 4, ISW analysts indicated that the Russian military command had probably concentrated on the areas south and southwest of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region and was temporarily shifting its focus from capturing the city to advancing west to the border with the Dnipropetrovsk region.
