In Ukraine, the state program “winter support” has been launched, according to which every citizen can receive 1,000 hryvnias in one-time assistance.
Parents have the right to issue these funds for their children as well, which allows to strengthen the family budget in the difficult winter period.
The project will be valid until June 30, 2026, so there is enough time to apply and use the money wisely.
Payments are credited to a special “National Cashback” account, where both the funds of the program itself and the national cashback for the purchase of Ukrainian goods are received.
The government unified the conditions of both initiatives to simplify the rules for recipients and make costs more transparent.
You can issue the “winter thousand” in two ways – through the “Diya” application, updated to the latest version, or at the “Ukrposhta” branch.
Money is credited exclusively to citizens of Ukraine who are not currently abroad, so it is important to take into account your actual status before submitting an application.
After the funds are credited to the “National Cashback” account, they can be used only within clearly defined categories.
This format of non-cash payments allows the state to control the targeted use of aid and direct it to truly necessary expenses.
First of all, the winter thousand can be spent on paying for utility services, which for many households is the most relevant expense item in the cold season.
It is also allowed to pay for postal services, which will be useful for those who actively use the forwarding of parcels, letters or money transfers.
A separate important direction is the purchase of food, because even an additional 1,000 hryvnias can significantly strengthen the family’s daily grocery basket.
The program also covers the costs of medicines and medical products, which is especially relevant during the season of colds and chronic exacerbations.
In addition, the funds can be used to pay for books, magazines and newspapers, supporting your own education and the Ukrainian print market.
Part or all of the winter thousand is allowed to go to charity, in particular to donations to the army and other support initiatives.
As a reminder, more than 150,000 Ukrainians have already submitted applications for the payment of UAH 6,500 “Winter Support”.
The Cabinet of Ministers also extended “Natskeshbek” and “Winter support” until the middle of 2026.
