Winter cold and snowfall: what will be the New Year’s weather on December 31

On December 31, winter weather with low temperatures, snow and strong wind is expected in Ukraine.

By message forecaster Natalka Didenko, at night the air temperature will vary from -3 to -7 degrees, and in the east and northeast – from -4 to -9 degrees.

During the day, the temperature will remain around -5 degrees in the capital with strong gusts of wind, which may threaten safety near high-rise structures.

It will be cold and snowy in the capital on December 31. At night, the temperature will drop to -7 degrees, during the day it is expected to be about -5 degrees. Strong gusts of wind and ice on the roads are also predicted.

According to Didenko’s forecast, the frosty weather will continue on January 1, 2026, as well as on the night of January 2. At night, the temperature will range from -7 to -14 degrees, during the day on January 1 – from -4 to -7 degrees.

At the same time, a gradual warming is expected already on January 2-3, although the frost waves will still return – winter will remain winter.
