Already from December 24, arctic air will come to Ukraine, which will bring a sharp cooling. “The temperature in the northern regions will drop by 6-8 degrees. At night, the minimum values will reach -5…-12 degrees, and it will also be frosty during the day,” he noted.
December 25 and 26 will be the coldest, as well as the last days of the year — from December 29 to 31. At the same time, the impact of a frosty anticyclone will make for more sunny days, because it will prevent the formation of continuous cloud cover.
As for the snow, Kibalcic says that weak atmospheric fronts passing through the western, central and southwestern regions may cover the ground with snow before the onset of frost. The left bank, on the other hand, will remain under the influence of high pressure, so frosts will hit the bare ground there. “But in the last days of December, a cyclone and atmospheric fronts from the north of Europe may bring snow to most of the territory of Ukraine,” the forecaster noted.
Earlier, forecaster Nataliya Ptukha reported that on December 25 there will be almost no precipitation, the temperature at night will range from -4° to -10°, on the Left Bank it will be even lower. During the day, it is expected to be from 0° to -6°.
Also, the weather in Ukraine on December 20: cloudy, without significant precipitation, fog in places.
