Whether Russia can carry out successful offensive actions in the Kherson region, in particular with the forcing of the Dnipro River, the founder of BO Reaktivna Poshta, military expert Pavlo Narozhnyi told on Radio NV.
“I have great doubts that any successful forcing of the Dnipro is real. Near the Antoniv bridge, the Dnipro River is about a kilometer wide. That is, they have to do all these advances under heavy fire – not to mention artillery, tanks, even under small arms it will be very difficult to do it. Because all the vessels they have are confiscated (boats that are not military equipment, that is, they are not armored, are not prepared for such purposes,” Narozhny notes.
Even if we imagine the most difficult scenario, that the Russian DRG has gained a foothold on the right bank, it will be very difficult for them to hold any bridgehead, he is sure:

They are doing everything in order to stretch the front line: so that we have to keep combat-ready units in Kherson, and not use them, say, in the Pokrovsky or Vremivsk directions,” Narozhny explained the goals of the Russian Federation.
The Russian occupiers are trying to cross the Dnipro near Kherson several times a day in order to capture a new bridgehead on the right bank, the Southern Defense Forces said.
On December 20, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, announced that the Russian invaders had become more active in the Kherson area.
