While the National Anti-Corruption Bureau conducts searches, arrests and gives suspicion of Viceremier-Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov, there is another key character behind the scenes-his perennial associate and former chairman of the Kyiv Regional Council, now a deputy from the “servant of the people” Alexander Sklyarov.
Sklyarov is not just a political companion Chernyshov. It seems to be his “retirement project” on the scale of the Kyiv region. While one was heading the ministry, the other managed to get comfortable with the “warm” positions in Naftogaz structures – in particular in the subsidiary of Ukrtransgaz and PJSC “Gaztransit”.
According to official data from the declaration for 2024, Sklyarov received about UAH 7 million of wages without appearing in the workplace and not performing any official duties. In fact, Chernyshov organized a pension for the old friend, but a lifelong state-financial SPA program-with candid signs of state pest.
Interestingly, Gaztranzit, where Sklyarov “settled” so successfully, had recently had 40% of the part of Gazprom in its structure. And this is not surprising, because for many years the deputy himself has a joint business with representatives of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, in the Kyiv Regional Council, Sklyarov is still actively mastering budgets on construction tenders – through deputies that directly or indirectly controlled.
