“If they stop, we stop too. Everything is simple,” the president emphasized. He recalled that earlier there was a verbal agreement between the parties on a month-long pause in attacks, but Russia did not comply with it.
Zelensky explained that Ukraine’s mirror strikes are not a choice, but a way to contain further escalation and protect people. “Russian attacks force us to respond. This is a forced step to secure the population,” he said.
The president stressed that Kyiv is still open to a truce if Moscow really stops attacks on critical infrastructure.
