German political scientist, director of the European Stability Initiative Center (European Resilience Initiative Center) Serhii Sumlennyi said on the air of Radio NV why it is wrong to think that if Russia cannot defeat Ukraine, then NATO, with its military resources, is not threatened.
“First of all, if Russia attacks, it will not attack on a full scale, but in a hybrid way: [буде] to corrupt the elites, to do some small operations. And, secondly… Of course, NATO is militarily stronger than Ukraine and Russia, but who is ready to fight among the population of NATO countries? Baltic countries – yes, Poles – yes, probably Czechs, and others – I’m not sure. Therefore, this logic – if Russia has not defeated Ukraine, then it will definitely not defeat NATO – it is wrong. Because the population in Ukraine is ready to fight, but not so much in NATO countries,” Sumlennyy explained.

In September, after information about the likely lifting of restrictions on long-range missile strikes against Russia, dictator Vladimir Putin began threatening NATO countries with war. However, Europe ignored the Kremlin’s repeated threats, The Guardian wrote on September 13.
It was also reported that one of the NATO countries — Estonia — changed its defense plan in case of war with Russia.
