With Donald Trump, the winner of the presidential elections in the USA, Ukraine has a chance not just to stop this war, but to really win, according to Mykhailo Samus, director of the New Geopolitics Research Network.
“When Trump comes, there is a certain possibility, the probability that in this [російській] empire, in which resources are now considered infinite… Although we know that both in terms of weapons and military equipment, not everything is so good there, and half of the ammunition is already produced by North Korea. Therefore, there is a chance that resource-wise Russia may falter. And this opens up opportunities for us to even change the situation – not just to stop this war, but also to really try to win,” Samus said on the air of Radio NV.
At the same time, he draws attention to the fact that details are important:
“How will Trump act? Will he be afraid to go all the way against China and against [диктатора Володимира] Putin? Not reacting to these statements about a nuclear war, which is definitely not relevant, at least in the Russian-Ukrainian aspect. Putin understands that Trump can really shoot missiles. Because these are not democrats. These are Trumpists who sometimes react a little inadequately to the situation and can really bang missiles.”
The Hill and Fox News declared Trump the winner of the election. The BBC reported on the Republican lead in all seven swing states.
Trump himself also announced his victory in the election in a speech to supporters in Florida.
Even before the official results are announced, world leaders congratulate him on his victory.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy also congratulated Trump on Twitter with an “impressive victory.”
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not plan to welcome Trump, the TASS propaganda resource said, citing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
