The Court of Appeal of the Supreme Anti -Corruption Court resumed consideration of the case of the accused People’s Deputy of the 8th convocation of Andriy Levus three years after stopping the hearing.

The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, which stated that in the beginning of September 2024, the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, which was mobilized to the Armed Forces, was dismissed from military service through the conclusion of the military-medical commission on unfitness, in the early September 2024.
Separately, the prosecutor noted that in the summer of this year the amendments to the Law “On Military Duty and Military Service”, which prohibit the completion of army ranks from among persons accused of committing a serious and/or particularly serious corruption criminal offense and criminal proceedings.
According to the investigation, Andriy Levus was suspected of abusing power.
During 2014-2017, the accused received UAH 543.9 thousand compensation for renting a parliamentary hotel “Kiev”, and these payments were illegal, since at that time Andrei Levus had an apartment in the capital belonging to his wife.
In May 2021, the Supreme Anti -Corruption Court justified the Exnarade and found it innocent. The key argument was the imperfect legislative framework for the settlement of the housing issue for non -resident MPs (at the time of election Andrey Levus was registered in Stryi, Lviv region).
In addition, the court took into account the testimony of Levus, who assured: that the hotel number used, except for accommodation as one of the workplaces.
Separately, the Exnaress argued that he was often forced to live separately from his wife in a hotel room because of the difficulty in family relationships.
In June 2021, the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor’s Office challenged an excuse.
At the end of December 2022, the appellate court stopped the case before Andriy Levus’s release from military service.
Earlier Supreme Anti -Corruption Court chose Precautionary measure by People’s Deputy Alexei Kuznetsov in the form of arrest with the right to go on bail.
