“According to the investigation, the citizen appealed to the person who presented himself as a lawyer’s assistant for legal assistance in connection with the protocol for him for driving a car in a drunken state. The mentioned person suggested “resolve the issue” with the judge for the reward, attracting a familiar lawyer. However, the plan failed and the court found the citizen guilty, ”the message reads.
The persons promised to cancel this decision on appeal for $ 1.8 thousand. But they attracted another lawyer. The funds were received for the transfer of the Judge of the Poltava Court of Appeal with two tranches – $ 300 and $ 1500.
After the transfer of the last part of the unlawful benefit of NABU and the SAP together with the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police in the Poltava region, the attackers were exposed.
According to the SAP, a court sentence to one of the lawyers and the person who was assistant, was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment with confiscation of 1/2 property.
Another lawyer was sentenced to 4 years in prison with confiscation of funds withdrawn during the search – $ 130,450 and 6 750 euros.
“The court also deprived the lawyers of the right to engage in lawyers for 3 years,” the SAP added.
