The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (VAKS) abolished the next NABU detective on the closure of criminal proceedings related to a fictitious business trip of a mobilized activist Vitaliy Shabunin from the 207th Terroboron Battalion to the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NAPC).

It is about the proceedings, within which the actions of the NAPC management are checked – in particular, the director of Alexander Novikov and his deputy Artem Sytnik. According to the investigation, they contributed to the design of fictitious business trips for their acquaintances, including Shabunin and another serviceman – Dmitry Sherembbey. According to the latter, they were not in fact in their part, but received both cash and additional combat payments.
The investigating judge of the WACS declared the decision to close the proceedings premature, which was approved without proper clarification of all circumstances and does not meet the criteria of validity. The court order also indicated the lack of proper investigative actions – in particular, interrogations of the persons involved and the analysis of documents of the military unit.
This is not the first case of the cancellation of NABU decisions in this case. In January, Waxes recognized the negligent work of another NABU detective – Biryukov, who had previously tried to close the same proceedings.
In addition, according to Boyko, Shabunin is accused of using the Nissan Pathfinder car imported into Ukraine as humanitarian assistance for the Armed Forces. It has not yet been transferred back to the military unit and, according to the veteran, is used by Shabunin for private purposes.
It is expected that the next step in this case may be the official announcement of suspicion of Vitaliy Shabunin.
