In Brovary, an unknown attacker set fire to the Jeep Compass car, owned by a volunteer and activist from a large dimmer, Antonina Kornienko. The incident happened around 7:00 pm on Simon Petliura Street, 21–23, opposite the Terminal, where Antonina has an office space.
Usually a woman was parking her car near the office.
According to Antonina, she was in the office and did not hear and did not see the moment of arson. Fortunately, indifferent passers -by, who witnessed the event, promptly called rescuers and police.
The fire reported to the rescue service at 19:20, and at 19:35 the firefighters completely eliminated the fire. At about 19:40, police officer contacted Antonina to report the incident.
A local resident, Mr. Bogdan, who lives in a house near which a car was parked, arrived at the scene. The man said he heard a not too loud explosion. Since there was no air anxiety, he decided to look out the window and saw a burning jeep.
Due to the presence of a fire extinguisher, Bogdan managed to curb the flames before the arrival of rescuers, which helped prevent more damage.
Law enforcement agencies are currently conducting investigative actions to establish the circumstances of the crime and find the perpetrators. According to Antonina Kornienko, information about the arson was entered in the Unified Register of Pre -trial Investigations.
She expressed the confidence that the attackers would be found and held accountable, emphasizing the prompt and professional investigation of the case.
Taras Bakay also spoke about the incident on his Facebook page, noting that he had a conversation with law enforcement officials.
According to him, all the necessary services are involved in the investigation, and law enforcement officers take active measures to establish all the circumstances of the event and search for involved persons. He assured the public that he would inform about the results of the investigation and motives that could stand for this bold crime.
