The second lioness, which was released by unknown persons from the Khmelnytskyi rehabilitation center for wild animals on Saturday, November 15, has been found.
Director of the center Serhiy Palokhin told Suspilno about this.
“All this time, the lioness was near our petting zoo,” noted Serhii Palokhin.
The police of the Khmelnytsky region reported that the lioness was put into a medicated sleep: “The animal is being transported to a safe place.”
“The police officers worked in a coordinated manner, blocking the possible directions of the animal’s movement. “Soon, one of the crews found the lioness near the place of escape,” the law enforcement officers said.
According to the fact of the event, the investigators started a pre-trial investigation under Part 1 of Article 299 (Cruel treatment of animals) of the Criminal Code and establish all the circumstances of an unusual incident.
Before that, it was possible to catch another animal.
We will remind that on Saturday, November 15, two lions escaped from the rehabilitation center for wild animals in Khmelnytskyi. Later there was a report that the lionesses had escaped.
