A man was detained in Kyiv who, on the instructions of the Russian special services, tried to organize a terrorist act against law enforcement officers. He installed an explosive device with a “stretcher” in a rented apartment on Pechersk and, simulating a case of domestic violence, called the police.

The police received a call about a woman being beaten by her boyfriend. During the telephone conversation, the “victim” reported that she locked herself in the bathroom, leaving the apartment door open. However, upon entering the residence, the police discovered an explosive device. Reacting to the danger, they left the apartment in time before the grenade detonated.
The perpetrator was detained at his place of residence in the Kyiv region. He turned out to be a 43-year-old man with a criminal past.
According to the investigation, he was recruited through a messenger by enemy special services. The man rented an apartment in advance, equipped it with video surveillance cameras and prepared explosives. The call to the police was staged with a female voice to lure the police into a trap.
After the crime, the man hid at home, where he was detained by SBU and police officers. He was promised a considerable financial reward for his actions, but he never received the money.
Currently, the detainee has been notified of the suspicion of committing a terrorist act under Part 2 Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court chose a preventive measure for him in the form of detention without the right to bail. He faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
