Near Korosten, intensive restoration work is underway at the place where a freight train disembarked, caused by the impact of a Russian drone. The enemy’s attack on the objects of the energy and transport infrastructure of Zhytomyr Oblast resulted in the wounding of four railway workers and significant damage to the tracks. The work is complicated by the constant activity of enemy UAVs in the region, which forces specialists to act in conditions of increased danger.

Due to the blocking of the main section, Ukrzaliznytsia was forced to reroute a number of passenger trains through Fastiv. The extension of the route and the need for additional connections lead to delays, which currently amount to three hours. Western and international trains, including flights to Lviv, Kovel, Uzhgorod, Ivano-Frankivsk, as well as foreign trains to Warsaw, Kholm and Przemyśl, operate on the changed schedule.

In order to ensure direct connection with Korosten, railway workers have organized a special scheme of transfers. Passengers heading to this hub can use suburban trains from the Shepetivka station. A similar algorithm applies to passengers who plan to leave Korosten in the opposite direction.
The railway department asks passengers to carefully monitor official notices and announcements at stations, as the delay time may vary depending on the pace of infrastructure restoration. It is expected that traffic on the main line will be restored after the completion of the safety inspection and repair of the damaged fabric.
