​USAID allocates $1.8 million to support the employment of Ukrainians

The program of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) “Competitive Economy of Ukraine” allocates $1.8 million to support the employment of Ukrainians.

“The USAID program “Competitive Economy of Ukraine” is launching a new initiative aimed at improving the qualifications and retraining of specialists in accordance with the needs of the market,” the message says.

This project will help youth, veterans, people with disabilities and internally displaced persons (IDPs) realize their potential in the labor market, providing them with the necessary skills for in-demand professions in the most dynamic sectors of the economy.

In addition, the initiative provides support for women in acquiring skills in occupations where men statistically prevailed. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the partnership between the private sector and educational institutions of vocational and technical education, providing incentives to the private sector with the aim of creating new jobs and providing job seekers with the necessary skills for employment in promising sectors of the economy.

This will be primarily focused on improving the qualifications and retraining of specialists for industries critical to Ukraine’s recovery, such as construction and logistics.

We will remind that 20 Ukrainian enterprises will receive grants in the total amount of UAH 84.9 million for the development of the processing industry.

As part of the “Own Business” program, young entrepreneurs under the age of 25 can apply for grants of up to 150,000 hryvnias to open their own business through “Dia”.

We will also remind you that the second season of the educational and scholarship program “Strength” is starting in Ukraine, the purpose of which is to support the recovery, development and scaling of businesses that suffered as a result of a full-scale invasion.
