The other day, during a massive attack by the Russian Federation, Ukrainian military Nataliya Grabarchuk shot down an Kh-101 cruise missile from the Igla MANPADS. She and two other defenders of Ukraine were awarded.
This was announced on Facebook by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov.
“An accurate shot, precise coordination, and joyful emotions of victory. Today I had the honor to personally meet with three incredible female defenders, who have become a symbol of professionalism and courage,” the November 19 message reads.
Umyerov said that the video of combat work, which was seen by Ukrainians, was shot by a senior soldier, Olga Maksimenko. She provided video recording, which became not only a proof of the successful completion of the task, but also a motivating moment for all of us, the minister emphasized.
Meanwhile, senior soldier Valentina Steblevets was working with a tablet, monitoring the air situation and transmitting key information about the enemy target. In particular, its precise coordination became the key to success.
And as a result, soldier Nataliya Grabarchuk performed a successful launch from the Igla MANPADS. Before that, she completed two training courses at the training center in Desna.
“We are proud of you, your service and your steadfastness! On behalf of the Ministry of Defense and the whole of Ukraine, he thanked Olga, Valentina and Natalya for their dedication and courage and presented the well-deserved awards of the Ministry of Defense. Your work protects our sky and brings victory closer,” Umyerov summarized.
We will remind that Nataliya Grabarchuk shot down an enemy cruise missile in the morning of November 17. As specified in the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this was its first combat launch and first hit.
Earlier, the Minister of Defense Rustem Umyerov held a conversation with the manufacturers of long-range weapons, during which prospects, plans, conclusion of long-term contracts and approaches to increasing the efficiency of the entire industry were discussed.
