“Ukrzaliznytsia” announced the opening of ticket sales for trains departing from January 22, 2023.
Carrier notes that tickets will be available gradually: approximately 70% of domestic flights will be available from 08:00, international flights will be available from 09:00, and the rest will be available throughout the day.
The changes in the schedule will affect 118 long-distance trains and 62 suburban trains, which is connected with the need for safety and the restoration of infrastructure damage, in particular, in the Fastov section.
“118 long-distance trains and 62 suburban trains of Ukrzaliznytsia will run according to the changed schedule, which will allow us to make the necessary safety adjustments and eliminate delays in the Fastiv area hit by the enemy, where the restoration of the destroyed infrastructure is actively underway,” the message emphasizes.
The carrier warned about the deliberate slowing down of trains. “Now we are making a painful, but necessary exception, deliberately slowing down a number of flights. The safety of both passengers and railway workers, as well as the predictability of railway connections, must come to the fore,” Oleksandr Pertsovsky, chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia, explained the situation.
He added that the carrier updated the train schedules in a record 7 days, while it takes 5 months in European countries. This will make it possible to increase the rate of on-time arrivals to 91%.
In addition to resuming train traffic, Ukrzaliznytsia is also working on technical improvements to routes. It is expected that the introduction of the new schedule will improve the prospects for comfortable and safe transportation of passengers in the near future.
We remind you that the sale of tickets for a number of trains after January 21 is temporary suspended before making corrections to the traffic schedule due to complications in the Fastov section, which recently suffered enemy damage, as well as due to changes in routes for security reasons.
