As of January 11, 2026, more than 80 trains are behind schedule, some six hours or more.
Passengers are forced to wait in cold carriages, while operatives of Ukrzaliznytsia are making efforts to restore the schedule.
The worst situation occurred on international routes to Poland and Austria. Train No. 93/94 connecting Khelm — Kharkiv-Pas. is delayed by a record 6 hours and 35 minutes due to broken power lines and logistical difficulties at the border.
Flight No. 23/24 Kyiv-Pas. — Helm lags behind by 5 hours and 54 minutes, and No. 749/750 Kyiv-Pas. — Vienna — for 5 hours 40 minutes. Also No. 19/20 Khelm — Kyiv-Pas. is 4 hours 14 minutes late.
Domestic popular destinations suffer no less. Train No. 83/84 Uzhgorod — Dnipro-Holovny is late for 4 hours and 11 minutes, No. 85/86 Lviv — Zaporizhzhia-1 — for 3 hours 44 minutes.
Flights No. 15/16 Vorokhta — Kharkiv-Pas. and #145/146 Chernivtsi — Kharkiv-Pass. lag behind by 3 hours and 26 minutes, and No. 105/106 Kyiv-Pas. — Odesa-Holovna — for 2 hours 40 minutes.
The list of problematic trains includes routes to Sumy, Kherson, Kremenchuk, Warsaw and Bucharest.
Even high-speed “Intercity+” did not avoid delays. For example, number 715/716 from Przemyśl is more than an hour and a half late due to a chain reaction of failures.
As a reminder, Ukrzaliznytsia reduced the delays of 14 trains due to weather conditions.
Also, Ukrzaliznytsia is introducing Starlink-based Wi-Fi on another flight.
