The relevant changes to the Procedure for holding electronic auctions for the sale of electricity under bilateral contracts were adopted by the government.
According to the new rules of NAEC “Energoatom” will sell electricity for the needs of NEC “Ukrenergo”, in particular to cover technological losses, at a forecasted price formed on the basis of weighted average market indicators, and not short-term price fluctuations.
“This will allow to reduce costs in the electricity transmission tariff, which directly affects the final price for all non-household consumers,” the Ministry of Economy noted.
As reported, factively, the decision creates a more stable and understandable pricing model for non-household consumers in the part of the electricity transmission tariff. Enterprises will have the opportunity to plan their costs without sharp tariff jumps.
It is said that the sale of electricity for the needs of NEC “Ukrenergo” will be carried out through special short-term electronic sessions with the possibility of applying a discount of 30% from the weighted average market price.
The mechanism will operate exclusively during the period of martial law and does not require additional expenditures from the state budget.
