Ukrenergo has published a forecast regarding restrictions on electricity consumption for Saturday, January 3, 2026.

According to the company’s official announcement, the forced savings measures will be applied in most regions of Ukraine due to capacity shortages caused by the consequences of recent massive Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.

Hourly outage schedules will be in effect for residential consumers, and power limit schedules for the industrial sector and businesses. Energy experts emphasize that the amount of restrictions may change depending on the current situation in the energy system, in particular due to a significant increase in consumption in frosty weather. As of January 2, electricity consumption in the country has already exceeded the previous day’s indicators by 21%, which creates an additional load on damaged network nodes.

You can find up-to-date information about when the power will be out at your address on the official websites, chatbots or social media pages of local distribution system operators (oblenergo). Ukrenergo urges citizens not to turn on several powerful electrical appliances at the same time after power is restored, in order to avoid emergency situations on the lines.

As of 9:30 a.m. on January 2, 2026, electricity consumption in Ukraine exceeded the previous day’s level by 21.2%.

As a reminder, on January 2, 2026, schedules of hourly electricity blackouts for the population and capacity restrictions for industrial facilities were in effect in all regions of Ukraine.

On January 1, hourly blackout schedules were introduced in all regions of Ukraine due to the consequences of recent Russian missiledrone attacks.
