“Ukrenergo” introduced schedules of blackouts throughout Ukraine on January 2

In all regions of Ukraine tomorrow, January 2, 2026, schedules of hourly power outages for the population and capacity restrictions for industrial facilities will be in effect.

As reported by the national company “Ukrenergo”, the forced measures were caused by serious damage to the energy infrastructure as a result of the latest missile and drone attacks by the Russian Federation. Power engineers are working to restore facilities, but the power deficit in the system remains significant, requiring load stabilization due to planned blackouts.

The exact time and duration of the restrictions at specific addresses will depend on the regional distribution operators (oblenergo), which publish detailed schedules on their official resources. The dispatch center emphasizes that the situation in the energy system is dynamic and may change depending on the operational state of networks and the level of consumption. Citizens are urged to save electricity as much as possible during periods of its availability, not to turn on several powerful devices at the same time and, if possible, to transfer energy-intensive processes to the night hours.

Restrictions on the industrial sector are implemented to ensure a balance between production and consumption to avoid large-scale emergencies. The authorities emphasize that Russia’s energy terror aims to destabilize the country’s vital activities in the winter period, therefore the conscious attitude of each consumer to the use of energy is part of the general resistance. Rescue and repair crews continue to eliminate the consequences of shelling around the clock in order to minimize the duration of outages in the coming days.
