As of the end of the 2023-2024 academic year, about 102,700 foreign students were studying in Polish higher education institutions, of which 45,500 (45%) were citizens of Ukraine.

According to data from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland, 19,900 Ukrainian students enrolled in Polish universities last year.
Of them, 11.9 thousand chose private educational institutions, 7.8 thousand – state ones, and 0.2 thousand – church universities. It is important to note that according to a special law in Poland, Ukrainians have the right to obtain a higher education free of charge in public universities in Poland, if the education takes place on a full-time basis in the Polish language.
In addition, Ukrainian students can receive social scholarships, study loans and other financial assistance, including rector’s scholarships and payments for people with disabilities.
