In the second quarter, the debt of Ukrainians to pay for housing and communal services reached UAH 106.6 billion.

Citizens’ debts in the second quarter make up:

for the management of the apartment building – UAH 8.8 billion;

for water supply and sewerage – UAH 10.2 billion;

for heating and supply of hot water – UAH 35.2 billion;

for the supply and distribution of natural gas – UAH 32.3 billion;

for household waste management – UAH 3.1 billion;
-
for electricity – UAH 17.1 billion.
Debt data are given without taking into account the temporarily occupied territories and parts of the territories in which the fighting is conducted in the department. This is the first time from the beginning of a full -scale invasion, when data on the debt of Ukrainians for utilities.
At the same time, the Ministry of Energy emphasized that it is necessary to pay utility bills during the martial law, because it depends largely on the preparation for the autumn and winter period, the restoration of damage caused by the enemy, reliable operation of the power system.
Non-payment for housing and communal services can be charged and charged to citizens (penalties, penalties), since the Cabinet of Ministers has canceled the ban on the termination of housing and communal services to consumers who have debt for their payment.
“The moratorium on shutdown is stored only for residents of the territories where hostilities and temporarily occupied territories are conducted. In addition, it is forbidden to stop the provision of utilities if the consumer’s house was damaged as a result of hostilities – but subject to information about such cases of the relevant contractor of the utility service, ”the Ministry’s statement reads.
The National Bank predicted that gas, heating and hot water supplies will remain unchanged in the next year.
As of July, the Unified Register of Debtors reported about 701 thousand proceedings about debt collection for housing and communal services. This is 6.3% more than it was registered at the end of 2023.
