A new survey by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications showed that the level of trust in courts and prosecutors among Ukrainians has dropped significantly. Yes, only 12% of Ukrainians trust the courts and 9% trust the prosecutors.

This is evidenced by the KMIS survey conducted on December 2-17, 2024.

“Trust in courts and prosecutors remains critically low. Only 12% of Ukrainians trust the courts and only 9% trust prosecutors. They do not trust – respectively, 63% and 67%. Compared to last year, the situation has not changed,” sociologists noted.

Formally, the level of trust in courts and prosecutors has not significantly deteriorated over the past year. However, at the same time, other data show that the perception of the situation with justice is becoming more acute.

Thus, in September 2023, KMIS asked questions about the perception of corruption, and 59% answered that “there are indeed attempts to fight corruption in Ukraine, there are positive developments,” and 36% answered that “Ukraine is hopelessly corrupt, there are no positive changes.”

In September 2024, 48% believed that there are attempts to fight corruption in Ukraine, and the share of those who rather agree with hopeless corruption increased to 47%.

Before that, in December 2023, 55% of Ukrainians believed that corrupt officials should be punished as soon as possible, even if it is in violation of the law.

Also, during 2024, the trust of Ukrainians in the president, the government and the Verkhovna Rada fell. At the same time, the support of the Armed Forces remains at the level of more than 90%.

Another poll showed that in December 2024, 52% of Ukrainians trusted President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, 39% did not. The remaining 9% answered that they could not decide on their attitude.

Recently, the Rakuten Viber team found out whether Ukrainians would donate to the Armed Forces and their friends who are serving. 63% of respondents continue to donate in 2024, another 27% helped in other ways — the same figures were at the end of 2023. More than half of Ukrainians learn about the fees from friends and acquaintances.

Support for European integration of Ukraine has also reached a record level, according to the latest survey.
