Ukrainian President Reports Heavy Russian Casualties in Occupied Territories

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Russian forces are experiencing significant losses in the ongoing conflict, with nearly 200 soldiers reported killed or seriously wounded for every kilometer of occupied Ukrainian territory.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is not losing ground, a sentiment he believes has been recognized by the administration of former President Donald Trump. He noted that the extent of Russian casualties may come as a surprise to some, particularly in light of the influence of Russian propaganda.

According to Zelensky, recent assessments indicate that the cost of one kilometer of occupied land is approximately 170 Russian casualties, either killed or injured to the extent that they cannot return to combat. He asserted that there is substantial evidence supporting this claim.

In his remarks, Zelensky also acknowledged the potential for the United States to withdraw from peace negotiations, particularly if Trump shifts his focus to domestic issues. He expressed concern over this possibility, stating, “We do not want the Americans to leave the talks. If Trump steps back, Russia will likely show less willingness to compromise. It is easier for us to end the war with American involvement, as they can exert pressure on the Russians. I believe Trump is currently the only person capable of doing this.”

President Zelensky reported heavy Russian casualties in the conflict, asserting that Ukraine is not losing territory. He expressed concern over potential U.S. withdrawal from peace negotiations, emphasizing the importance of American involvement in achieving a resolution.
