Ukrainian Forces Thwart Russian Mine-Laying Operation Near Zahryzove

Ukrainian airborne troops successfully disrupted a Russian attempt to lay mines near the settlement of Zahryzove in the Kupiansk region, eliminating an enemy reconnaissance group during a brief firefight.

According to military sources, soldiers from the 2nd Airborne Battalion of the 77th Brigade detected the movement of Russian troops who were attempting to establish minefields in the area. This maneuver was aimed at complicating the movements of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In response to this threat, Ukrainian command deployed bombers and an assault group. Following a short engagement, the enemy sabotage unit was completely neutralized.

“Our airborne troops quickly identified the enemy’s actions. Timely deployment of bombers and the assault group led to the destruction of the adversary in a firefight,” stated officials from the brigade.

The Airborne Assault Forces emphasized that the decisive actions of their defenders thwarted yet another Russian mine-laying operation, effectively neutralizing the immediate threat.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy frequently attempts to utilize sabotage groups to create minefields and conduct reconnaissance operations.

The 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Assault Forces continues to maintain its positions, promptly identifying enemy infantry reserves.
