Ukrainian military forces have launched strikes against significant energy facilities in Russia, targeting the Transneft oil terminal in Primorsk and the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim oil refinery. These actions are part of a broader strategy to disrupt Russian supply chains amid ongoing hostilities.
According to reports from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the attack on the Transneft terminal has resulted in damage to both the storage tanks and the oil loading infrastructure. A fire has been confirmed at the site, which is a crucial point for oil exports, handling approximately 60 million tons of oil annually.
In addition to the terminal, the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim refinery in Ufa has also been struck, with local authorities confirming a fire at the facility. This refinery plays a vital role in supplying fuel to the Russian military, with a processing capacity of around 6 to 8 million tons of oil per year. It is located about 1,400 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has stated that the strike on the Primorsk terminal is significant as it serves as a major export hub for Russian oil in the Baltic Sea. The facility is noted for its role in facilitating a substantial portion of Russia’s oil exports, including through clandestine shipping routes. In 2025 alone, over 46.6 million tons of oil were transshipped through this terminal.
Following the attack, a fire broke out at the terminal, affecting oil and petroleum product storage tanks. Local authorities are currently evacuating personnel from the area.
In a related operation, Ukrainian forces have also targeted Russian air defense systems, including the Tor missile system and the 2S6 Tunguska anti-aircraft system. Additionally, strikes were reported on a radar station in the Bryansk region of Russia.
Ukrainian military efforts have extended to logistics facilities, including a fuel and lubricants storage site and an ammunition depot in temporarily occupied Donetsk. Other targets included a drone storage facility near Staromykhailivka and warehouses for Shahed-type drones in Makiyivka, Donetsk Region.
Ukrainian forces have conducted significant strikes against key Russian energy infrastructure, including the Transneft oil terminal and the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim refinery. These actions aim to disrupt Russian supply lines and have resulted in confirmed fires at both locations.
