On March 28, 2026, Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled a significant offensive by Russian troops in the Alexandrovsky direction, marking one of the largest assaults in recent months. The situation has been stabilized, with the enemy suffering considerable losses in both personnel and equipment.
In the early hours of the day, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack involving heavy armored vehicles and a substantial number of infantry. Military officials described this as the most powerful assault on this section of the front in recent months.
“Thanks to the coordinated actions of our units, as of 14:00, the situation has been fully stabilized, and the enemy’s attempts at offensive actions have been halted,” stated the brigade.
In terms of enemy casualties, Ukrainian defenders inflicted significant losses. Reports indicate that the enemy suffered 27 fatalities, with one additional soldier injured. “In just the first half of the current day, the enemy’s losses in personnel and equipment exceeded the total figures from the previous three days of combat operations,” the unit clarified.
Additionally, Ukrainian forces destroyed one tank, two quad bikes, and two motorcycles belonging to the invading troops.
The Alexandrovsky direction remains a hotspot for intense fighting. Ukrainian forces had previously launched counterattacks in this area to halt the enemy’s advance toward the Dnipropetrovsk region. During these successful operations, Ukrainian troops managed to liberate nine settlements, with three others completely cleared of occupiers. The enemy’s losses in this region are estimated in the thousands.
It was also reported that from March 17 to 20, Russian forces attempted to execute a large-scale offensive plan, conducting over 600 assaults in just four days. However, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, these attempts resulted in catastrophic losses for the Russian side.
