Ukrainian Forces Conduct Operations in Dnipropetrovsk Region

The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Air Assault Troops are currently engaged in a significant operation in the Oleksandrivsk direction, aimed at disrupting Russian advances in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Military sources indicate that key objectives of the operation include defeating enemy forces and pushing them beyond the administrative borders of Dnipropetrovsk.

Despite ongoing assaults by Russian troops, Ukrainian Air Assault units are successfully repelling attacks while simultaneously executing offensive maneuvers.

According to the Air Assault Troops, the situation remains highly dynamic. The enemy is attempting to maintain control of captured positions and is deploying significant personnel and technical resources.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continue to fulfill their assigned tasks and are gradually reclaiming territory.

Since the operation commenced, the Air Assault Troops, in conjunction with adjacent units, have regained control over more than 300 square kilometers of territory. Additionally, eight settlements have been cleared of enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups.

Military officials emphasize that the active phase of the operation is ongoing, making it premature to discuss final outcomes at this stage.

In related developments, on February 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian defenders had liberated approximately 300 square kilometers of territory from Russian occupation in the southern front.

Furthermore, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, confirmed that due to counterattacks and assaults in the Huliaipole area and adjacent directions in Zaporizhzhia, Ukrainian forces have managed to restore control over an area exceeding 300 square kilometers.

On February 13, reports emerged indicating that Ukrainian troops were conducting localized counterattacks at the junction of the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) speculated that the Ukrainian military might be capitalizing on communication issues within Russian forces, particularly due to the disruption of Starlink and Telegram services.

Additionally, on February 16, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, visited Ukrainian troops engaged in combat in the Oleksandrivsk direction and around Huliaipole, where active hostilities are currently taking place.

Ukrainian Air Assault Troops are actively engaged in operations to reclaim territory in the Dnipropetrovsk region, having regained over 300 square kilometers. The situation remains fluid as both sides continue to engage in combat.
