Ukrainian drones have attacked the “Tamannaftogaz” oil terminal in Russia’s Krasnodar region, resulting in a fire and reports of explosions at the site.
According to sources, the strike was carried out by drones from the Security Service of Ukraine’s “Alpha” special operations unit. The terminal is one of the largest oil ports in the Black Sea region, facilitating the transfer of oil, gas, and ammonia.
The facility’s tank farm exceeds one million cubic meters and is a crucial component of Russia’s energy export infrastructure.
Initial reports indicate that a fire broke out at the oil transshipment complex following the attack.
This incident follows a previous strike on the same terminal on January 22, during which technological pipelines at the docks and storage tanks containing vacuum gas oil and fuel oil were damaged. Estimated losses from that attack were around $50 million.
In recent days, drone forces have claimed to have targeted the “Tamannaftogaz” terminal again, suggesting that Ukrainian drones have struck this significant Russian facility twice within a short period.
Sources within the Security Service of Ukraine have stated that Ukrainian intelligence services are systematically targeting energy and export infrastructure in Russia, which generates substantial revenue for the aggressor state. Disrupting these export capabilities complicates the financing of the war and logistical support for Russian military operations.
Ukrainian drones have struck the "Tamannaftogaz" oil terminal in Krasnodar, causing a fire and marking a significant escalation in attacks on Russian energy infrastructure. This follows a previous strike in January, highlighting ongoing efforts by Ukraine to disrupt Russia's energy exports.
