Ukrainian drones successfully targeted an oil depot in Russia’s Pskov region, approximately 500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, marking a significant operational achievement for Ukraine’s security forces.
According to reports, drones from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) struck the Velikolukskaya oil depot, resulting in at least four explosions and a subsequent large-scale fire at the facility.
Workers at nearby enterprises were evacuated as the fire spread. Although anti-drone nets were deployed around the fuel storage tanks, they failed to prevent the drones from reaching their target.
Located about 50 kilometers from the Belarus border, the Velikolukskaya oil depot is owned by Pskovnefteprodukt LLC and stores diesel fuel, gasoline, and other petroleum products.
An informed source within the SBU stated, “The SBU continues to methodically target facilities that supply fuel to the Russian army. Destroying oil depots directly impacts the enemy’s ability to conduct military operations, advance, and transfer reserves.”
