The Ukrainian Defense Minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, has indicated that Russian military losses are escalating due to various factors, potentially leading to record numbers in March 2026.
Fedorov stated, “We receive daily video confirmations from the front lines showing enemy troops self-destructing. This often occurs after being targeted by drones or during encirclement by Ukrainian forces.” He emphasized that the situation for Russian troops is worsening each day.
According to Fedorov, the self-destruction of Russian soldiers stems from decisions made by the Russian military leadership. He criticized the propaganda that claims control and superiority, contrasting it with the reality faced by unprepared soldiers lacking evacuation options and facing relentless drone attacks.
Another contributing factor is the Russian military’s prohibition against surrendering, with propaganda suggesting that it is better to die in battle. Fedorov noted that this deprives Russian soldiers of the right to life, despite the possibility of exchange after capture, which occurs regularly.
Fedorov warned, “Each day of the war results in more deaths. March may become a record month for Russian fatalities. The data indicates that, thanks to the Ukrainian Defense Forces, enemy losses could exceed 30,000 in terms of serious injuries and fatalities.”
He further added that reaching a figure of 50,000 destroyed soldiers in a month would have catastrophic consequences for Russia. Fedorov mentioned that he would later elaborate on the strategies that could make this a reality.
In light of these losses, the minister proposed awarding Ukrainian units 12 points for each video confirmation of Russian self-destruction.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov reported significant increases in Russian military casualties, potentially reaching record levels in March 2026. He attributed these losses to various factors, including ineffective military strategies and propaganda, while suggesting new measures to incentivize Ukrainian forces.
