Ukrainian Company Fire Point Unveils New FP-7 Ballistic Missile

Ukrainian defense firm Fire Point has released a video demonstrating its latest ballistic missile, the FP-7, which is designed to strike targets at distances of up to 200 kilometers. The announcement marks a significant advancement in Ukraine’s missile capabilities amid ongoing military developments.

Denys Shtilierman, a representative of Fire Point, shared the video on social media, stating, “Here’s a short video. Context will follow later.” The FP-7 is classified as a short-range ballistic missile and is intended for precise strikes on ground targets, drawing comparisons to the American ATACMS missiles.

The FP-7 is based on the Soviet-era S-400 surface-to-air missile system and is categorized as a ground-to-ground missile. It requires specialized launch systems, which, according to the manufacturer, have already been addressed.

Technical specifications for the FP-7 include a range of up to 200 kilometers, a warhead weight of 150 kilograms, and a maximum speed of 1,500 meters per second. The missile has an average speed of 800 meters per second and a target deviation of 14 meters. The maximum flight time is approximately 250 seconds.

Fire Point plans to commence serial production of the FP-7 by the end of 2025. Concurrently, the company is developing the FP-9 missile, which is expected to have a range of up to 855 kilometers, with development set to begin in 2026.

With a range of 200 kilometers, the FP-7 can target cities such as Belgorod and Bryansk, which are located near the Ukrainian border. However, it is not capable of reaching Moscow.

Since the onset of the full-scale war, Ukraine has been actively ramping up its missile production. President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly emphasized the need to increase the quantity and range of Ukrainian missiles, asserting that Ukraine should become self-sufficient in its defense capabilities.

Fire Point has introduced the FP-7 ballistic missile, capable of targeting locations up to 200 kilometers away. This development is part of Ukraine's broader strategy to enhance its missile production and self-defense capabilities amid ongoing military challenges.
