According to the Minister, the NATO Air Doctrine is a strategic document on the principles and ways of using the Alliance Air Force for security and restraining aggression.
“This doctrine is key to NATO defensive strategy, and on its basis the preparation of new members of the Alliance and partners is formed. The road map is structured according to the key functions defined by the NATO doctrine, ”Shmigal said.
The road card, he said, was presented today by President Vladimir Zelensky. Its purpose is to strengthen the ability of Ukraine:
- apply aviation during combined operations and operations within NATO activities;
- to defeat the enemy during current aggression;
- Prevent the enemy’s advance and restrain it in the future.
“This document of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces will be able to restrain the enemy’s aggression because of the ability to apply air power according to NATO standards,” the Minister of Defense added.
