Ukraine opens a new page of transatlantic cooperation in the field of energy security. During the Ministerial meeting of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC), Naftogaz of Ukraine signed a memorandum with the Greek company ATLANTIC-SEE LNG TRADE SA. The document provides for the establishment of regular supplies of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine, which will be an important step in strengthening the country’s energy independence and diversification of energy sources.

This is reported by the Ministry of Energy.

LNG will be delivered through Greek gas terminals and the so-called Vertical Corridor.

“We are laying a new foundation in transatlantic cooperation with partners and taking another step for Ukraine’s long-term energy stability and new opportunities,” the Minister thanked the partners from the USA and Greece.

As the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk reported, this long-term partnership covers the horizon until 2050 and involves the phased implementation of several strategic projects, in particular, ensuring stable long-term supplies of LNG for Ukraine. Also, the integration of the Ukrainian gas infrastructure into the logistics routes of the supply of LNG to Europe and the creation of a sustainable system of supply and storage of American LNG.

We will remind that Poland intends to supply Slovakia with American liquefied gas (LNG), which will allow Bratislava to replace Russian energy resources.

It was also previously reported that the start of gas deliveries from the newest Russian “Arctic LNG-2” will be postponed after the company declared force majeure due to US sanctions.

We will also remind you that the Russian natural gas producer Novatek has created a new team in China to search for gas sales markets due to sanctions.
