Ukrainian universities are strengthening military training, which, in particular, will become a mandatory part of education for students of medical and pharmaceutical specialties.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko in Telegram.
According to her, this step will make it possible to form a personnel reserve of specialists who are “critically important for the front and the system of military medicine.”
Svyridenko noted that the list of higher education institutions that will provide such training is also being updated, and the professional standard — requirements for knowledge, skills and competencies of future reserve officers — is being specified.
The training programs will contain clear requirements for the content, schedule and forms of training, and also provide for an increase in the amount of training time by 20%.
“Today, 33 departments of Ukrainian universities train reserve officers. Thanks to the adopted changes, we will ensure a higher quality of training and strengthen the state’s defense potential,” the head of government emphasized.
Meanwhile, Poland is starting a multi-year program to train medics to work in war conditions. The first two thousand specialists will be trained by June next year in five centers: Krakow, Lublin, Warsaw, Gdańsk and Białystok.
