Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiga announced a significant simplification of access to consular services for Ukrainians abroad in 2025. A key element will be the implementation of the e-Consul system, which will allow for the automation of a number of services, making them more accessible and faster.
One of the main innovations is the launch of automated notary services in all Ukrainian diplomatic missions abroad. Thanks to this, citizens will be able to choose the type of power of attorney or application they need in advance, add the necessary information online, and receive a document ready for signing during a visit to the consul.
In the next six months, it is planned to launch new digital services in the e-Consul system. Already in February, courier delivery of foreign passports will be available in several countries with the help of Nova Poshta. This will reduce the number of visits to the diplomatic mission: once to submit biometric data, and a ready-made passport can be received by mail.
It is planned to start issuing driver’s licenses abroad in the spring. In the second half of 2025, a comprehensive service for registering the birth of a child abroad will become available. It will include:
- state registration of birth;
- granting Ukrainian citizenship by birth;
- registration in the State Register of Tax Payers;
- entering the child into the Unified State Demographic Register.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to work on expanding digital services to make life easier for Ukrainians abroad.
